Eight provinces near the Mekong River are at risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall from today until next Tuesday, August 15. The National Water Resources Committee issued the flood warning yesterday, August 9, according to a Nation Thailand report.

The affected provinces are Chiang Rai, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani. The flooding risk is the result of the Mekong River rising as a result of heavy and continuous rise fall.

“Related agencies in eight provinces near the Mekong River have to be ready to deal with the situation.”
