webfact Posted August 17, 2023 Share Posted August 17, 2023 Two southern insurgents were shot dead by Thai government forces in a clash in Nong Chik district of the southern province of Pattani on Wednesday. A combined army, police and defence volunteer force was dispatched to Village 6, in Tha Kamcham sub-district, to lay siege to a house where two insurgents were thought to be hiding. The authorities used a loud hailer to tell the two insurgents to surrender, but they refused and opened fire, sparking a fierce firefight.
