A bit silly if you ask me. Her carrying the rose in the open should have been enough to show she didn't believe the a single cut rose would be illegal. A slap on the hand and taking the rose away would have been the right thing to do. And I thought US customs were bad. They took a packet of chicken ramen from me because it contained dried chicken. It was a brand sold in the US.

Different opinions but rules are rules and I have seen many of American border controls doing the same, in every other country including the USA they do the same
