Heading to Nepal for the first time in Oct and need to know if I can pull out Rupee from an ATM using my Bangkok Bank card.  I will speak to the bank but I'm looking for actual experience from one of our group if you get my drift.  Thanks in advance!

Yes, but no.

They will tell you yes, and in theory you can. But the merchant being paid may pay a higher commission, or prefer a Visa card.

I have had my BKK Bank card declined about one time in six in Singapore and KL. You'll have better odds using the ATM of whatever the biggest bank in Kathmandu is. Or better yet, an Indian bank.

Been to Nepal 4 times and would go again tomorrow.

Bkb debit cards are iffy as they aren't real MasterCard/visa but TPN (Thai payment network).

Other Thai bank cards work perfectly worldwide.

Why does Mastercard let them use the logo?
