Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of  Interior, Dr. Sar Sokha, advised studying and examining the actual situation to reduce the cost of passport service for citizens, which currently costs $115. The comment of Dr. Sar Sokha was made this morning, September 4, 2023, during a meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, Sokha saw that the cost of passport processing in Cambodia seems to be higher than in some neighbouring countries; therefore, in order to facilitate  citizens who need to make a passport, the relevant professional institutions should study this work in order to be able to reduce the price acceptable to all levels of the people.

“As for passports, I think we should study to lower them a little bit, as they currently cost more than $100,” said Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha. A passport is an essential document for citizens wishing to travel abroad. Currently, the service for making a passport costs $115, which takes one month, and there are other prices according to the type of speed and the needs of the people. All passports are valid for 10 years. Fresh News
