Question about re-entry permits.

I plan on renewing my marriage extension in November.

 

It looks like I will be leaving the country at the beginning of February for what could be 6 months for business abroad.

 

What is the maximum time allowed to be out of the country on a re entry permit?

Do I have to tell immigration my expected return date?

 

I want to keep my Thai visa alive if possible.

Can stay out as long as you want.

Reentry permit has expiry same date as current permission of stay.

You do not need to give return date. 

 

You state the following...

What visa? You most likely have a 12 month extension based on marriage

no limit, as long as you return before the re-entry expires

yes, it is a 12 month extension based on marriage.

So if you only intend to leave one a year abroad, or two, it will be cheaper than the multiple entry visa for retirement.
