bizader Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Hello I have a bedroom wall on the 2nd floor that is exposed to the sun for 6 hours in the afternoon. This makes the wall and the bedroom really hot in the evening. The wall is the pre-cast type and it retains heat. Due to the small size of the bedroom, I have no choice but to put the bed against that wall and the heat is simply unbearable. Does any one has any ideas on how to insulate the wall interior to reduce the heat and what products to use? Thanks for your suggestions.
bunnydrops Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 This is as close as I can find that might work http://www.thaifoamgroup.com/index.php/product/foam-sheet
bunnydrops Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) This maybe better https://tha.sika.com/en/construction/roof-systems/thermal-insulation.html The problem is that they are very flamable and would need to be covered with something like gibson board Edited September 12, 2023 by bunnydrops addition
Thailand J Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Block the afternoon sunlight with metal awning or canvas canopy. Paint the wall white. 1

What he might want, is to stop the radiation, and without knowing the house standard, ownership, neighbours, it is hard to suggest anything. Quick fix is to make a double wall with airspace between. More worthy solutions is to spend money on insulation with high R factor
Thailand J Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) but those umbrellas are so much more attractive compared to the boring Styrofoam. Tourists may come. NASA space shuttle tiles should do the trick, seriously. Edited September 12, 2023 by Thailand J
