Bangkok Special Prison seeks ‘checkup’ on ex-PM Thaksin at police hospital

Bangkok Special Prison is set to send an inquiry to the medical team at the Police Hospital about the condition of former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who has been receiving treatment there.

 

Thaksin has been in the hospital for almost a month, and the prison officials, led by Nasathi Thongplod, insist on following doctors’ orders above all else. Even if treatment extends to a year, Thaksin could remain in the hospital.

 

Nasathi Thongplod, the Commander of Bangkok Special Prison, revealed that the former Thai PM is still undergoing treatment at the Police Hospital following the doctors’ recommendations. Thursday, September 21 will mark his first month of treatment.

 

The Bangkok Special Prison will send a letter to the medical team at the Police Hospital, who are treating the 74 year old Thaksin, to inquire about his condition and whether he can be transferred back to Rajthanee Hospital.

Because overwhelmingly they are a bit dim but many are as thick as two short planks, that's what you get when promotion is paid for rather than earned or merit based!

Before the Thaksin support crew start bunching their panties I couldn't give a monkey's one way or the other for him, I care not if he is innocent or guilty of the trumped up charges his action's have shown his true character and it ain't pretty

Why does this particular situation piss you off and not, say, the school kids that are currently locked up in real jail cells simply for exercising free speech?

 

Why doesn’t the fact that all those guilty of conducting coups have never set foot in jail never bothered you?

 

During the elite funded and controlled street protests to oust Yingluck the “popcorn shooter” shot four people of which one died. The guy confessed and was sentenced to 30+ years of jail only for the corrupt courts to then acquit him on appeal (after confessing?) and release him. He was later retried and ultimately he served less than 6 years for murder. 
 

How is it that people are so dimwitted to not see the dangers of supporting a corrupted judiciary because it pursues a those they disagree with and protects those they agree with.

 

Your silence on this issue whilst the pro coup forces were benefitting from their control of the courts makes your commentary on the leniency shown to Thaksin now not only extremely hypocritical but also null and void.

People in Thailand aren't stupid,! I'm sure they know that Thaksin has paid enormous amounts of money to secure all of what has happened since touching down in Thailand, everything would have been put in place by his 'Flunkies' and the powers that be are still counting there rewards

What is the topic of this thread if not the vagaries of the Thai judicial system and the injustice it meets out?

 

I understand that you would like to limit the discussion to an extremely narrow bandwidth that consists of nothing other than “Thaksin bad” so as to unburden yourself from the need to be rational, factual and consistent in your pronouncements, sadly, this is not how discussion, debate or argument work, you’ll just have to find another way to avoid answering the legitimate questions posed by those not aligned with your “but, but Thaksin” nonsense.

It's part of the charade. It started with him delaying his "triumphant " return by 2 weeks, because he "had" to see the doctor. Carefully choreographed every act. Much more to follow in this circus. I wonder how genuinely sick prisoners ,that are rotting in jail, feel about this.

I agree with everything you say, but, always a but, Thaksin has put himself and his needs above doing the right thing for the country

 

He had the chance to do the right thing and chose to put his own needs above that. He could have been a power for change but chose not to

 

He has said one thing to his supporters for year's and stated he would never get in bed with the Junta then done exactly that

 

I have always been anti junta but by Thaksin's action's I have had to face the fact that every Thai in any position of responsibility is first and foremost self serving and corrupt

 

That's why the action's of Pita and his party are so rare and commendable and that's exactly why the actions of Thaksin and co are so reprehensible

A modified/partial pardon appears to be in place and should be expecting a full absolution before long.
