The vast majority of illegals come in via legal ports of entry, with fake papers.

 

The big agriculture employers bring them  in on school buses for the harvest, using third party recruiters. What would the Wall do to stop that?

I didnt say to close the ports of entry, just close them to those who dont have proper authorization. Now what about the other points- the cartels, opening camps for processing, etc?

We are never going to enter Mexico to pursue cartels, and they aren't very involved in smuggling people - drugs are their main concern.

 

There are already processing camps on the Mexican side of the border, I've seen them.

 

As for Nixon, his border closing was a giant mess. It is irrelevant that he won re-election.

The problem seemed to get better under Trump, then got worse under Biden. Just look at the numbers.  But again, pointing fingers and saying, "THEY didn't do anything" is a poor way to excuse the current administration's lack of action.
