October 2, 20232 yr Popular Post Great news. There's NOT enough of this kind of thing. Let's have more embarrassing publicity like this for Thailand, please. They hate losing face - even if it's a snake's face.

October 2, 20232 yr Popular Post I don't know what to think. She's entitled to her political views as much as her opponents are......BUT.....isn't it nice to see one of the untouchables humbled in public.

Not when those "Political views" go against the democratic process.

October 2, 20232 yr Popular Post For certain this trip is being paid by the taxpayer. Most Thai's enjoy travel as long as they don't have to pay for it, especially government officials. Perk of being totally corrupt and soulless. Edited October 2, 20232 yr by MrJ2U

Iceland is the fifth most democratic country in the World, according to the EIU’s Global Democracy Index. The parliamentary democracy in Iceland has always been maintaining and improved civil liberties and political rights. Porntip just showed how oblvious she is about what a parliamentary democracy is.

October 2, 20232 yr Happy to see that on a Senator's pay, it is possible to afford a trip to highly costly Iceland (even by western standards of tourism).
October 2, 20232 yr I think a Thai ex pat in Iceland because he has a different view to others in Thai politics asking a Thai tourist eating in his restaurant is taking it a bit far asking the guest to leave ????

October 2, 20232 yr Popular Post This guy sticks to his principles, how better would it be if the rest did?
October 2, 20232 yr 7 hours ago, webfact said: A Thai man, claiming to be the owner of a sushi restaurant in Iceland, told Senator Porntip Rojanasunan to leave the restaurant because she was not welcome there. The senator was visiting Iceland’s capital Reykjavik with a group of friends, including Bhumjaithai party MP Mallika Jirapunvanit. She posted stories and photos about her trip, which started on September 21. Her mission for going is to see the Aurora Borealis (northern lights). The man in the restaurant, whose name is not known, has a Facebook account called “Ari Alexander”. He did not give a reason why he wanted Porntip to leave the place, saying only what she has damaged Thailand tremendously. The incident came to light as “Ari” Facebooked lived from his car as he was driving to the restaurant. He said he heard that “that person” he hated was there. He was also heard saying that, if he could, he would hit that person with his car. October 2, 20232 yr "The incident came to light as “Ari” Facebooked lived from his car" Obviously the proof reader does not have English as his native language!

No sympathy for her, but the restaurant guy seemed to so shrieky and playing to the camera that it seemed like they didn't get what was going on at first. It would have been much better if he'd refused her service and explained exactly why in a calmer manner. But it wouldn't have made such a good video for social media I guess.

That's maybe why his restaurant isn't in Bangkok? - at least where he is he can choose who he serves and who he doesn't without fear of reprisals!

October 2, 20232 yr "Spicy" in White bread Iceland probably means the whale meat sushi is thawed out and not frozen. ????
October 2, 20232 yr Popular Post I admired her when she was standing up to Thaksin's death squads during his war on drugs but I lost respect when she promoted the import of the fake explosives detector which the British manufacturer later admitted at his trial had no functional components in them. No action was ever taken against Thai officials, including Pornthip and Prayut, who ordered that junk at vast expense and with large commissions presumably paid by the fraudsters. Her anti-democracy behaviour and rants as a junta appointed senator were the last straw. Son Nam Naa. Edited October 2, 20232 yr by Dogmatix

If you started off in politics with the idea to do things the right way you either find out there is no hope of that happening as the game is completely fixed or you jump in bed with the snakes and sell your soul. Remember Iceland is the country where the bankers who screwed up in 2008 were jailed.

On par with those lawyers that fight for their client when they know full well they are bent. All about money/power. What a messed up world.
