webfact
Two people, both foreign nationals, met their unfortunate end while five others sustained injuries in a shocking shooting incident at the Siam Paragon shopping mall on Tuesday. In response to the tragic event, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin directed various state agencies to enhance security precautions to avert future occurrences. The 61 year old Srettha took to Twitter to express his directives to establishments such as the Public Health Ministry, the Tourism and Sports Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, and the Royal Thai Police Force. The objective of these directives is to develop effective strategies to prevent such incidents from happening again. The victims of Tuesday’s deadly shooting included one Chinese and one Myanmar national, with the remaining five injured comprising of Chinese and Lao people. In the aftermath, police arrested a 14 year old boy who now faces charges including premeditated murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, illegally carrying a weapon, and discharging a weapon in public. The Thai PM offered his condolences to the families of the victims, reaching out to the Chinese ambassador Han Zhiqiang. The ambassador expressed gratitude to the Thai officials for their prompt response. The Thai prime minister also assured that the government will bolster public safety measures to ensure the safety of all visitors. by Mitch Connor Photo: by kat wilcox, on Pexels. Popular Post ezzra
Secure all you like, it has been tried all over the world, you will not be able to stop a mad man/mad boy from randomly shooting at people, it's not like they advertise their intent or carry a sign saying we are here to shoot people... 2 2

Popular Post connda
Thai PM vows enhanced security after deadly Siam Paragon shooting He'll accomplish the exact opposite if he makes Thailand into a banana-republic police state. This is really a knee-jerk reaction. If his plans are to focus on gun crimes while overlooking the much more frequent murders accomplished with machetes, rebar, knives, or gangs of Thais beating a foreigner half to death over a loss of face or a disputed bill or for asking to for the taxi meter to be used - well - he's not going to actually stop the exact crime that affects most foreign tourists. Yes - shooting in malls are horrific, but they are a 'one-off' events. The average tourist is about 1000 times more likely to get killed or injured on the Thai roads than get shot in a mall by some nut-job with psychological issues. Or getting macheted to death over a 30 THB taxi fare by a taxi drive with normal Thai "Face" issues. Want to change something Srettha? Work on changing the mass-psychological disconnect that causes Thais to attack and injure foreign tourists. TAT should promote a "Jai Yen" campaign: "Stop Killing And Injuring Our Foreign Guests" 2 1

Purdey
A Browning 50mm on each balcony. Someone starts to shoot, spray the area with bullets. Oh, the PM wants to make malls safer? How many shootings in malls over the years? I remember the gold robbing teacher but that is about all. Knives, hammers etc., have multiple uses but guns have a single, solitary use. There's the clue. Metapod
It's got nothing to do with security, it's a mental health issue. Honestly, freedom means you also need to accept some risks and <deleted>ty things go happen. You can't solve this by turning into a police state. People still get attacked and killed in prisons.
