Popular Post webfact
LEGISLATION TO GRANT amnesty for all defendants who may have encountered charges due to political conflict was today (Oct.5) submitted by the Move Forward at parliament. In pursuit of amnesty for those who may have been earlier arrested and detained for varied charges in relation to political conflict since 2006, the Move Forward bill is primarily designed to promote justice and sustainable reconciliation among opposing sectors of society, such as Yellow Shirt, Red Shirt and “multi-coloured” activists, who had developed critical conflict with one another over the last 17 years, according Move Forward leader Chaithawat Tulathon. The Yellow Shirt protests on Bangkok streets in 2006 which finally led to a coup to depose former prime minister/de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra and the Yellow Shirt and Red Shirt street protests in 2014 which culminated in another coup to oust former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra had resulted in massive arrests and detentions of street demonstrators faced with multiple sedition and national security-related charges. Popular Post ikke1959
Good. This law is outdated and abused by the Government. Praying always talked about critical thinking, but when people do, they are jailed. 3

mfd101
Will their 'criminal record' be wiped clean? Good luck with that. Edited October 6, 2023 by mfd101
Popular Post jippytum
This is long overdue. Hundreds of people incarcerated for voicing an honest opinion. Convicted criminals contiue tohave powerful positions in the Government and won't support a change as the present unjust law protects them more than the monachy. 3
bamnutsak
I suspect that the Suthep Gang, convicted of Sedition but out on bail pending appeals, will be the first to be granted amnesty? https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2021/02/26/suthep-and-aides-granted-bail-2-days-after-sedition-verdict/ And that no one 112 convicted will be granted amnesty.

spidermike007
Real man are not afraid of criticism. Real men are courageous enough to handle it, and don't need to hide behind cowardly and malicious laws. That excludes the heinous army. All political prisoners should be released, and all of those charges should be dropped. It is time for Thailand to start pretending there is an adult in the room.
