snoop1130 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 People in Thailand will have an opportunity to witness a partial lunar eclipse this Sunday (October 29), which also marks the end of Buddhist Lent, said a director of Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT). Suparerk Karuehanon, director of the Astronomical Academic Service and Communication Centre, said the eclipse will begin at 1.01am and last for just over an hour. He said a lunar eclipse is an astronomical event which occurs when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow, causing the Moon darken. Those in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, as well as in North and South America, will also be able to see the eclipse, the director said. bfc1980 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 When the last lunar eclipse was visible, I told my students about it, why and how it happens and that they should go outside and watch this celestial event. I even ran a little photography competition for the event. The next day, one of my boys told me that his parents didn't allow him to watch it because if he did, his eyes would bleed and he'd die. His parents have very good jobs and are well educated (the boy is at an international school in Bangkok). 1
PETERTHEEATER Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Alternatively, the lunar tics in Government house can be observed at any time.
