AYUTTHAYA - In a remarkable incident, the head monk of the Maenangpluem temple, Phra Palad Sawat Siriwotho, called for spiritual assistance to relieve the temple of a staggering debt of 1 million baht.

Following an agreement, a special movie screening was arranged in the temple premises, reported Sanook.

The debt arose when an individual pledged to sponsor repairs for the temple's ancient prayer hall with over 1 million baht. After the renovation was complete, this sponsor vanished without settling the payment, leaving the temple in debt.

On October 16th, during the funeral rites for an elderly woman named Yai Sudjai, aged 75, temple monks prayed for her spirit to relay their plight to the celestial beings.

They sought urgent assistance to clear the temple's debt and promised to organize a traditional musical show and movie in gratitude.

In an unexpected turn of events, a local industrialist, upon learning about the temple's predicament, was moved by faith and compassion and donated 1 million baht to cover the temple's debts. Consequently, the promised movie screening and musical performance were organized as a gesture of gratitude.

Let me get this right...

They made an appeal

Somebody saw the appeal and decided to donate

Therefore... divine intervention?

Smells fishy to me - probably that's what the told the contractor, not what was reality !
