Popular Post webfact Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) initiated an in-depth study into the Thai government’s policy for a 10,000-baht digital currency handout. This step comes as the agency intensifies its examination of the key policies of the ruling Pheu Thai Party. According to a source within the NACC, the decision was made following a suggestion from the agency’s corruption monitoring and appraisal panel. Supa Piyajitti, an NACC member, will oversee the committee, which comprises representatives from various government departments. The committee’s objective is to collect, inspect, and analyse data regarding the 10,000-baht digital currency handout scheme and devise countermeasures to avert any potential policy-oriented corruption resulting from the scheme. The committee will also collaborate with other relevant agencies and individuals to support its study and gather opinions and suggestions from various sectors on preventing potential policy corruption tied to the scheme. However, the Deputy Finance Minister, Julapan Amornvivat, announced yesterday that there could be a delay and a reduction in the scope of the digital currency handout, as it may likely only cover the poor. by Mitch Connor Photo courtesy of KhaoSod English. Popular Post Purdey Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 Amazingly, Pheu Thai appeared not to have been able to figure out how much the policy would cost and where the money would come from before they made the promise in the run up to the election they didn't win outright. Now they seem to be digging themselves deeper into a hole. 3 1 1
Popular Post hotchilli Posted October 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2023 Corruption.... of course, someone will try to skim off this. 3 1
brianthainess Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 No matter where the money comes from, it is so obvious to all and their dogs, it will be scammed in one way or other, to buy drugs, gamble with, etc. etc. 1 1
Andycoops Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 A probe should be launched into the corrupt incompetent nacc because their affront to democracy is well documented and envelopes abound... 2

seajae Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Thai govt and corruption go hand in hand, anything where the govt pays out money for what ever reason involves some sort of corruption with players getting backhanders, this has been shown time and again over the years. This will be no different, pheu thai are big on corruption which does not bode well for a start, they are introducing a policy they put up only if the won the election, they did not win it but are pushing it because they want to get their hands on as much as they can while in govt, nothing new at all, this is just one big grab for money by them 1 1
