Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said today that his Bhumjaithai party will support the government’s loan bill for the digital wallet scheme, if it does not contravene the Constitution.

As a member of the coalition government, he said that, although the scheme was initiated by the Pheu Thai party, the success of the scheme should be treated as an achievement of the whole government.

The Bhumjaithai party leader said that the party’s MPs will definitely vote for the bill in parliament because, when the bill reaches parliament, it means that it has been approved by the cabinet, the Council of State and the Bank of Thailand.

And if it doesn't work the BJT will be the first with the pointing finger saying "we told you so".

I'm sure Srettha will now wipe his brow that that has been cleared up.

....... if it is constitutional - otherwise we just rewrite the constitution once more again until it fits our ideas ;-)

He's got a thin line to walk on this one. His first step seems like a safe one.

Many hurdles for this idiotic idea to clear before MP's are forced to vote.

then you have the Constitutional Court (at a minimum).

Think this one will die a very slow death. The last estimate by Srettha or a minion was September 2024.

Stick a fork in this one.
