People in Phu Kradueng district in favour of cable car project : district chief

The district chief officer of Phu Kradueng district, in Thailand’s north-eastern province of Loei, has claimed that almost all the people there are in favour of the proposed cable car, to promote tourism in the province with an expectation that the project will generate up to 70 billion baht in annual revenue.

Chalawan Thailandicus Fossils Declared National Treasure

BANGKOK (NNT) - Rare fossils of an extinct giant reptile, Chalawan thailandicus, from the late Jurassic period, have been declared Thailand’s 44th national treasure by the Department of Mineral Resources. The announcement, published on the Royal Gazette’s website, highlights the fossils’ rarity and special value, found in Nong Bua Lamphu and Mukdahan provinces.

Boy saved from drowning in Phuket lagoon, another missing

A Burmese boy has been rescued after nearly drowning in a Phuket lagoon, while a Thai boy is still missing. The Phuket Express reports that local residents managed to pull one child from the lagoon, which is in the northern sub-district of Srisoontorn.

Cooler weather in the north and northeast tomorrow

A new moderate cold front from China is now covering the northern and north-eastern regions of Thailand. This will cause temperatures to fall by 1-2 degree Celcius in the next 24 hours, according to the weather forecast by the Meteorological Department.
