Unprovoked attack, woman raped on Koh Chang, utter carnage on the roads, gun violence, etc etc  .....and TAT wonders why the Chinese (and others?) are not coming.

  • Fifteen other Thais would have retalliated!

  • Uttaradit farang
    Uttaradit farang

I’m sure if it was a Thai guy punched in the face and sustained a broken nose the police would have checked CCTV and had someone in custody now !

Let me guess, are you an American?

And I know that most Americans just know that they are god's creation and the best in the world and all that.

But people outside of America don't have this simplistic American attitude.

Thailand is in many ways a lot more civilized than the USA.

What the hell is wrong with you?

in the context of this story his previous occupation is irrelevant

Perhaps you should address your feelings on that issue towards the people who placed that fact in the OP and the topic title, or the members who felt the need to so describe him in their posts.

I'm sure there's no personal rancor in singling me out for petty censure.

Never been punched. But I don't hang out with trash in Pattaya.

You were there only one day or did you forget that?

Nothing personal at all, why are you so sensitive, ?

Has anyone mentioned xenophobia yet?

No,   why would they ?

Why quote me to make your point?

Perhaps my sensitivities stem from others who do stalk my posts and attack my opinions because of personal dislike.

Well you can rest assured that I am not "stalking you"    Do you consider his former occupation of any relevance?

Ok, US soldier.

Doubt he got sucker punched, this is not a western country where that type of stuff happens often. Most likely he did something to piss the Thai off.

He is not a US soldier according to the article.  Maybe he did do something but maybe he didn't.  Curious what country are you from?

I'm an American and what you say ^ is basically true but you lose credibility when you assume all American blacks are from the ghetto and say MF every other word.   Bigotry is not civilized wherever it rears its ugly head ,on the streets ,in politics ,on a Forum. Own it.

more to this story than being told.   Was he chatting up the Thai guy's gf ...

Nah I think he was trying to chat up the Thai guy who hit him lol!

Ladyboys

Tough guys

What could go wrong

Sounds like the Usa only it should read ugly ladyboys and lots of guns.

There are groups of dirty thai boys up and down the beach walkway.  The type who are just itching for a confrontation.  Bad demeanor, unshowered, speaking belligerantly in thai language as tourists walk by.

My guess would be the American looked at one of them the wrong way, not understanding the social ramifications of this.  And being cold cocked was the result.

You have never met any Americans or watch movies/tv?  Wow thats amazing!

If you have a thing about the use of a subject's former occupation by news outlets, including AseanNow, in articles and headlines, take it up with them. Don't quote me nor seek my assent for your views.

It could lead to me incorrectly assessing your motives.

Nothing, really.

I am not a fan of America and many Americans.

And it's so easy to provoke them. Because they just know they are god's creation, the best of the best and all that.

Personally not seen this in the UK unprovoked but I have here. Local males can be incredibly jealous of farangs (or he may have been slighted previously or just nuts) and Pattaya is not the most convivial of places.

Don't forget if he has defended himself every Thailand in the surrounding area would have joined in...they f**"""' hate us...and that's one of the reasons tourists don't go back.

350 million in USA. How many have you met genius? And your comments are racist toward the person who was punched in this story as well. You should be suspended at least.

I didn't write "this guy" and I didn't write "all Americans". I know there are also lots of nice and smart Americans out there. And I am pretty sure that most of the smart and nice Americans don't get into trouble if they visit Pattaya.
