webfact Posted December 7, 2023 Share Posted December 7, 2023 A bus transporting factory workers in the Bang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya veered off the road, flipped over, and plunged into a ditch, resulting in injuries to 19 people. The incident occurred at approximately 20:30 on December 7th. Lieutenant Colonel Panyarat Ammata, Deputy Chief of Investigations at Ayutthaya Provincial Police Station, reported that the bus, with registration number 30-1490 Ayutthaya, overturned near the Asian Highway parallel lanes, just before reaching the Ayutthaya Central Prison in Hantarat Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, reported Daily News. Picture: Daily News Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, providing urgent assistance and transporting the injured to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital and nearby medical facilities. Upon questioning, the 58-year-old bus driver, Mr. Komol Santat, explained that he was ferrying workers from a factory in Bang Pa-in to locations in Phachi District and Nong Tala District, Saraburi Province. While navigating the deteriorated and undulating road surface, the bus lost control due to a pothole, causing it to flip over and crash. Picture: Daily News Law enforcement officials are currently examining the driver's testimony and conducting a detailed investigation into the accident, including interviewing the injured passengers. Of the 19 injured, there are two male and 17 female victims, with one in critical condition.
