BANGKOK (NNT) - Mae Hong Son Province hosts “16th Perd Muang Tai festival (Tai Yai city)” to promote and publicize local food Including community products, in Mae Hong Son province.

 

Perd Muang Tai festival is held at Tai Yai Education Center in Mae Hong Son province. The event was presided over by the Mae Hong Son Governor, Chestha Mosikarat, and attended by Jiraporn Mosikarat, President of the Mae Hong Provincial Red Cross, as well as government agencies and visitors.

 

For this year’s Perd Muang Tai festival, it is a significant part of the event organized to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Mae Hong Son city. The event provides an opportunity for local food vendors and community product suppliers within Mae Hong Son province to showcase and sell their products.

 

The aim is to promote grassroots community economic development, and foster the promotion and preservation of the rich local arts and culture of Mae Hong Son.

 

Participants in the event will have the chance to experience the diversity of ethnicities, including Tai Yai, Muser, Karen, Lisu, Pao, Yunnan Chinese. The event will feature exhibitions of community products, local cuisine, traditional attire, all organized under the promotion of the Mae Hong Son Provincial Administration Organization, government agencies, and community organizations.

 

The event is held from December 6 to 10, running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It encompasses various activities designed to encourage tourism participation, all under the theme "Taste, Enjoy, Shop, Share." Furthermore, on December 10, the event highlighted a traditional fabric fashion show in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Mae Hong Son, showcasing the enchanting charm of the province.
