webfact Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit announced that a portion of the new M81 motorway, set to connect Bang Yai district in Nonthaburi to Kanchanaburi province, will be accessible to drivers over the new year holiday season. Suriya and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin were in Kanchanaburi on Saturday, where they conversed with officials about the province’s development. During the period from December 28 to January 3, a 51-kilometre segment of the M81, stretching from tambon Wangtaku in Nakhon Pathom’s Muang district to tambon Nongkhao in Kanchanaburi’s Tha Mueang district, will be open to motorists with no charge. The move aims to alleviate traffic congestion on Highway 323, the principal road linking Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi, which regularly experiences heavy traffic during the holiday season. It will also offer a quicker route for trucks travelling from Bangkok to the west. Suriya relayed that the 61 year old prime minister has directed state agencies to hasten construction on the unfinished sections, enabling a full trial of the M81 next year. The motorway is projected to commence commercial operation around 2025. by Mitch Connor Picture courtesy of Bangkok Post Full story: The Thaiger 2023-12-11 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. KhunBENQ Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 And will they ever open the M6 (Korat - Bang Pa In) before the existing thousands of tons of concrete will start to rot? Since years I drove beyond this elevated motorway and nothing happens. Except some misleading signs making you think you can enter it. Must be a huge pile of corruption and incompetence.
drrobert Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Do we really need to know in many of Mitch Connor's posts that the Prime Mnister is 61 years old? Just asking

Just asking Well he is 61, hastening as he would still like to experience it I am 66 and given up hope to travel in a high speed train in this country. (waiting since the 2010s) Waiting about 7 years for opening of the M6.
