snoop1130
Pattaya’s vibrant Walking Street buzzed with holiday cheer on Christmas Day, December 25th, drawing both Thai and international tourists seeking festive revelry. Bars and beer gardens, adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, welcomed patrons with festive decorations and staff donning Santa Claus costumes. Ensuring the safety of this festive throng was a top priority for local authorities. Pattaya Tourist Police, deployed across the city, kept a watchful eye on the proceedings, ready to assist visitors in need. To add to the merriment, Pol. Lt. Col. Piyaphong Ensan, Commander of Tourist Police Division 4, Region 2, led officers in a delightful patrol and handed free cookies to tourists celebrating Christmas on Walking Street. This heartwarming gesture added a touch of sweetness and also security to the already vibrant atmosphere of Christmas night. still kicking
What a load of B/S, Thais celebrate anything just to make money. Taking young kids to walking street at night is asking for trouble.

As to the spirit of 'giving', I think it brings on a lot of greed and expectation... prices are up, so many have their hands out.
mikebell
The only time you see a cop when they are in celebration mood; here they are taking credit for Xmas to cover their inaction during the rest of the year. Drove over 300 kms during the holiday. I did not see ONE cop in Pattaya and Bangkok. I saw three ambulances though.
