Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
There is nothing much normal about the volume of consumption and easy access/availability of alcohol in Thailand (nor the number of alcohol fueled crimes and roadway deaths)... and it's just the way they (TAT, tourist operators, government lackies on the take) seem to like it, it would seem. And plying the hoi poli with more alcohol is all part of the misguided ideal of Thailand as a tourist paradise (of fools). -

Re-write: I agree with you, this was absolutely not Justified... I agree that there is a likelihood that this was perfectly avoidable by keeping quiet... Its even possible the Swiss guy swore which triggered the thugs... (conjecture of course). I’m not saying the beating was justified. Just avoidable. Can you confirm the Swiss man didn’t bring it on by running his mouth? I have witnessed that plenty of times by farangs in Thailand in various situations. A completely unprovoked attack. Never witnessed by me Absolutely not... I'd go as far as to make the assumption that he may have even swore at them and told them to 'get the f... of his car' (IF thats what happened - again just speculation of course) - that still does not warrant a 4-6 on 1 beating and smashing up the car. For this reaction to take place, these were the 'types' of thugs to be looking for an issue rather than simply react out of necessity. -

Are you using income method or funds in the bank Immigration will accept bank statement up to 7 days old. Seems you use Bangkok Bank. Other banks can issue 12 month bank statement on the spot. 12 month bank statement not required for money in bank method (marriage) For you FIRST 12 month extension bank statement for both marriage and retirement is not required. Just bank book or 3 month bank statement to show requirements have been met. -
