The proliferation of disinformation is of increasing concern among citizens of countries where elections are due to be held this year and they want a multi-stakeholder approach to address it effectively beyond the election year.

According to UNESCO-IPSOS, recent findings based on the Global Survey of Online Disinformation and Hate Speech, conducted in August and September last year in 16 countries where elections are anticipated in 2024, 87% of 8,000 respondents expressed concern about the impact of disinformation on election integrity, with 47% being “very concerned”.

The finding, released in November, reveals that 68% of respondents found disinformation most prevalent on social media. Moreover, 67% of internet users have encountered hate speech online and 58% believe it’s most prevalent on Facebook.

This word keeps appearing in these new world order situations, usually demanding censorship of any view other than the party line. It looks like Thailand is marching in lockstep with the West towards communism.

If it wasn't for "misinformation " we'd still be under the boot heel of the mask n needle brigade.

The word communism is an often misused word, there has never been a communist state, plenty of dictatorships spouting the word socialist yes. Like 'a Christian society' which has also never come into existence, plenty of dogma dictatorships yes. "To each according to his needs, from each according to his capabilities" from Karl Marx sounds like Christianity to me. Neither Christianity nor communism could exist because the mindset of humanity is too selfish, too greedy, too corrupt. Europe has managed a compromise, mixing socialist ideals with capitalism, unfortunately though the various government systems throughout the world seem to be turning more and more towards authoritarianism, perhaps because there is a societal breakdown due to failing demographics, and a disproportionate wealth gap, the elites of the world are grasping on to the status quo while the rest are looking for answers, we can only hope that the answer isn't the French solution from 1789.
