georgegeorgia
Just watching a vlogger who a few days ago was playing a piano in a public place in UK ,I think it was a shopping centre and he was video himself until a group of Chinese came over who were in the background to shout at him no photos or video of them and big argument developed ( Brendan Kavanagh) So this reminds me whilst this still goes on ,times have changed and the majority's accept they are being filmed Never in your life 10 years ago did you think someone can bike around Soi Bukhao at night filming girls outside bars I think it's wonderful and why please do tell why some people rush over to ask a vlogger if they are being filmed like a paranoia ? Photoguy21
It hasnt changed except that the Chinese think their laws apply to every country. There is also a few good follow up videos regarding just who those Chinese people are and what they do. None of it would possibly as it seems for the video at least in terms of the Chines people. 1

I know a couple of guys who come to Bangkok for a long weekend, after telling their wives that they are golfing in Europe. The chances of the wives seeing them on film in the bars extremely slim but still a possibility and a risk they take. Personally, I have no issues being filmed in public. I was walking with friends on Buakhao a few years ago and we were unknowingly filmed and posted on YouTube. Wife of one of the friends saw it. No issue at all as she knew he was in Pattaya. If he had been filmed in an open bar with another lady then might have been an issue. Best keep to the privacy of Gentlemen's Clubs IMO. bkk6060
Isn't there some vague Thai law a few years ago that filming people without their permission is not allowed? Anyway, the bar girls and customers don't like it much. The girls don't want their family or sponsors to know what they are doing and where they are. Customers mostly just don't want their activity displayed for others. In reality, these vloggers are trying to make money by exploiting Thai people, especially females. I bet none of them have work permits or pay taxes.

I'm sorry no one wants you🤗 .,,but as you mentioned previously you have "casual ( obviously paid)partners" and your afraid of photographers The guy who rides the bike has no interest in you he is vlogging bars and girls not old men like yourself No guy sitting at home after a long day at work watching Pattaya YouTube then sees your old face ,they want to see bar girls not you with your "casual partners" I hope you understand Edited January 26 by georgegeorgia

Popular Post OneMoreFarang
There is a huge difference between being somewhere accidentally in the background or being targeted to be center of the video or picture. In above case, nobody would have noticed the Chinese people if they would have just walked through the background. And obviously all of them wearing red and waving Chinese flags didn't exactly help to stay in the background. And then complaining in front of a life cam is just utterly stupid. I wouldn't like if someone would walk i.e. through Nana and point a camera at me and maybe a girl next to me. But I know I was once in the background of some porn movie. Someone made a video walking through Soi Cowboy and people sitting outside the bar were all "part of the movie". I found out that I was part of the movie because I was in the soi all the time with my bike. I saw my bike in the video and then I looked at the frame and I found myself. I guess the 99% of the people who know me and watched the movie for whatever reason would never have recognized me for being maybe a few seconds somewhere in the background. That's just life the way it is. I didn't complain and tell the producer that he should edit me out of that. I didn't care.
Popular Post OneMoreFarang
One of the nice things about Thailand is that if one of those YouTubers would film too much of what he shouldn't film, then some "security guards" would explain to him his errors. He won't do it again. 1 1

The question is about broadcasting videos filmed in public. My opinion on this narrow issue is : 1- it should be legal to video anything happening in a place legally accessible to the public 2- if some people who are filmed during their private or covert time/activity become aware of it, they should have the right to request to be made unrecognizable in any broadcast 3- people shooting videos of other people while these are on their private or covert time should be required to provide ID on the request of any people they filmed private time means not "obviously" working, not wearing a uniform, not exercising any official or public office/duty/capacity at the moment the video is made. This means - plain clothes police officers openly wearing their badge at the belt or on their jacket's front pocket can be filmed and can't request to be made unrecognizable. - workers wearing a uniform outside of their workplace or not wearing a uniform but obviously working in a place visible from a public place can be filmed and can't request to be made unrecognizable. - other people can request to be made unrecognizable and can request the ID of the photographer/videographer this is not how laws are now, it's just my opinion on how things should be. of course, there are other legal interests playing into it as well, for example public interest or whistleblowing / crime reporting, public figures, etc. Edited January 26 by tgw 1
Popular Post Trippy
I have no problem getting filmed for personal use, but when they put it up on the net for the whole world to see, I should have the right to have my face pixelated, but sadly in many countries I don't have that right. 1 1

impulse
To get a full appreciation of the OP, you'd need to look up Brendan Kavanagh on YouTube. He ranges from entertaining to very obnoxious. His entire reason for being there is for his YouTube (or other) channel. Playing the idiot on a public piano until he gets an audience, then showing off. Sometimes, he pulls it off, sometimes he's just embarrassing. Some of the other guys that hang out and play piano around him are extremely entertaining and not obnoxious at all. It's pretty uplifting to watch 2 or 3 guys banging on a piano at the same time and getting it absolutely right. Well worth looking for on YouTube.
