With Thaksin On Parole, Thailand Might Be Run By Two Prime Ministers

Featured Replies

MOVE FORWARD LEADER Chaithawat Tulathon said today (Feb.15) Thailand might probably be run simultaneously by two prime ministers after de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict Thaksin Shinawatra has been released on parole.

Apart from Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin legally tasked with the running of the country, the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict might practically do the same, albeit in surreptitious, behind-the-scenes fashion, now that the “sickly” former prime minister has been granted parole and is expected to return home from Police Hospital on the upcoming Sunday, said the Move Forward leader, who concurrently performs as opposition leader at parliament.

“There might probably be two prime ministers at the same time. (Thaksin) might suddenly look healthy and kicking after release on parole and go places to visit the people throughout the country,” Chaithawat said.

Yes, must have been the hospital making him sick......if he was even in there!  Are they planning to sneak him back in Saturday night?

Absolutely correct, these people have no shame whatsoever, democracy has no place in Thailand only the rule of the rich

Amazing, Thailand TIT

Welcome to:  This is Thailand.

In August the posts on here with regard to Mr T's homecoming were witty, some were cleverly constructed, many were factually incorrect yet nonetheless comical.

Now the number of posters is reduced to a rump of humourless haters posting banal, repetitive drivel.

Welcome home Mr T.

I have the impression that he still has little left to live. Usually you are forgiven when you are terminally ill.

Get Yingluck back and there could be 3 PM's, yes! That's a great idea! :jap:

No only one.  The present one is a stand in puppet

  • Popular Post

"Two"? You jest, there is only one, and he has been pulling the strings all along.

Well it will be three really - Srettha, who was sort of elected, the "behind the scenes" cabal from the military and Thaksin.

Not the hospital.. the idea of spending more than an hour in a Thai prison would make anyone so sick.

He’s been running the country since his party climbed into bed with the military I wonder what the former PM thinks if all this !

I dislike 'might be or could be' headlines. Tell me when it happens, not what might happen.

Well Pita is rich but he won't side with the military, so they find anything to stop his party.

This reporter is very naive if he thinks there are going to be 2 prime ministers after his release. There's only 1 now (Taksin) and he's going to continue ruling as he has been doing throughout the tenoir of all governments formed by his parties since 2001.

You might be/could be lucky!

I doubt he cares, as long as he's free and can dictate whatever benefits he wants.

Not two PMs - just one.  Thaksin will call the shots.  Srettha will either step aside completely to make way for Ung Ing who will let her father decide everything, or will just continue racking up air miles to sell land bridges and stuff.

Please educate yourself, Thaksin has been convicted by a military junta, the very same people who deposed him, trampling the will of the Thai people under.

That was not a conviction in a court of law !

There are two possible places for Thaksin in the Thavison government without chzllenging or replacing PM Thavisin: assignment to the Office of the PM and Deputy PM. Either keeps Thaskin in mainstream Thai politics without being elected.

Make it 5. Thaksin ' s other sister , a very ambitious woman, and her husband. ,the ex PM could join the fray.Add the 3 kids, and we got 8. Change the name from Thailand to Shinawaland .I

Land of the free just doesn't sound right anyway.

Make the Red Bull lad  ,with his rich traveling experience, the foreign secretary.

Only the best, that's what Mr T promised when he first ran in national elections. He certainly delivered.

In my (humourous) view, T is the president and the L.C. is his prime minister. [Act 1 , last scene]
