Phuket cracks down on illegal operations in Chinese restaurants

The bustling tourist hub of Phuket, in Thailand, was recently the scene of an extensive inspection operation. A composite task force composed of representatives from 15 different government entities descended upon six Chinese eateries located in the Naka Market area of Wichit. Alarmingly, three instances of law infringement were uncovered in the process, including one restaurant that was found to be operating without a proper license.

RTN launches coral reef conservation in the Andaman Sea

The project, aimed at repairing and installing mooring buoys, seeks to safeguard the area’s coral reefs, the vibrant yet vulnerable bedrock of the marine ecosystem.

Thailand govenment raises sugar cane price, stirs industry buzz

The government yesterday sanctioned a definitive sugar cane price for the 2022/2023 season at 1,197 baht (US$33) per tonne, marking a substantial increase of 117 baht from the preliminary price of 1,080 baht per tonne. In parallel, the initial price for the 2023/2024 season was ratified by the cabinet, standing at 1,420 baht per tonne.

Bangkok police block Thaksin’s house amid tension with activist’s sister

Bangkok witnessed a tense standoff yesterday as police cordoned off the area around the residence of Thaksin Shinawatra, preventing Sitanan Satsaksit from approaching the house. Sitanan, the sister of missing democracy activist Wanchalearm Satsaksit, sought to question Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen over her brother’s alleged abduction in Cambodia in 2020.

More Myanmar Nationals Cross Border After Draft Order

Dutch Expat Found Dead in Pattaya Condominium
