Young couple dies in Chon Buri motorcycle crash after eerie omen

A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the lives of a young man and woman in Chon Buri province today at 5am. A couple encountered a grim omen in the form of a barn owl feasting on a dead dog by the roadside shortly before crashing into a garbage truck and succumbing to their injuries at the scene.

Dusit Thani Bangkok set for grand revival in 2024

Dusit Hotels and Resorts unveiled its intention to resurrect Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel, with a projected reopening in September 2024. This new establishment will occupy the same prestigious location as its predecessor, a landmark in the Bangkok skyline from 1970 to 2019.

Karma: Thai man killed by Buddha statue during temple rampage

A Thai man, who attacked a monk at a temple in Chon Buri province, later died after the sharp head of a Buddha statue pierced his chest during a rampage in the temple’s main hall. Locals suggested that his death appeared to be the swift result of karma.

Agriculture Ministry’s claim of “buffer zone” in Khao Yai park challenged

Defiant National Parks chief Chaiwat Limlikhitaksorn has challenged the Agriculture Ministry’s claim, based on the Army Survey Department’s “One Map”, that the disputed land in Khao Yai National Park is in a land reform (Sor Por Kor) area, but will be kept as a “buffer zone”.

Heat and humidity in Thailand

 

Somchart Techathavorncharoen, a Move Forward MP in Phuket, has issued a warning about the risk of fire during the current heatwave. Just looking at most of the hills around the island you can now see plenty of brown spots where there has been no proper rain for many months.
