Might need help choosing good case for an ATX ASUS motherboard. Tks!

Recommended Posts

So, anyway, I returned to Amazon USA to buy a case.

I found one that seems good.

But, the shipping cost from the USA is almost as much as the case, itself.

What is the best case for my motherboard?

I do not like glass on the case, just because I see no reason for this, and it looks CHEAP.

I am OK with this price:

I was just about to CLICK ....  BUY....

But then, I saw that the shipping cost was CRAZY....

So, anyway, if anyone might be willing to chime in here, then I would be grateful, as usual.

TV is really good for helping members to find better choices.

My budget for the best case I can buy in Taiwan is about USD140.00, or so.

Still I would like to save a few dollars/pounds, if I can get something better than this for LESS.

Thanks to anyone who might reply in a helpful way.

Tks, and , regards,

Gamma

Note:  I like my boxes big.  I have plenty of space on my computer desks.  Even a full tower might be acceptable if I could get some sort of special discount.  I just need reliability on the switches, power buttons, ports, etc....

Thank you again.

Note2:  I do not use a GPU, a discrete GPU, and so I will not care too much about the width of the box, simply because I have only a CPU cooler (air), and no cooler will be required for the GPU, which I never use.

Note3:  FYI...  I have this motherboard sitting in my desk drawer just collecting dust....

I need to buy a case for it, and then I will assemble it....

Tks, once more....

TBH, I'm ok with whatever the case may be! It's really a case of up to you. In any case, whatever floats your boat. Let's just put this case to rest. Is anyone else even following this case?

Yes.

You are correct.

But, somebody already made a very good suggestion concerning the best/most-efficient/quietest fans for my box.

I am, indeed, indebted to all the good support I have received from TV members.

TV members have never failed me, in my times of need.

Thanks to all!

TV is a wonderful resource.

And so, I do my best to contribute, in kind, as my way of paying back for the fruits that I have been given.

NOTE:  I purchased the CPU over a month ago....  The i5-13600K....

Tks!

Thank you for your suggestion.

I am in CM.

Anyway, no problem, I guess.

I will probably buy from JIB, as usual.

I guess I will opt for the Fractal R5, which has fans included.

(I hate the glass window.  But, beggars can't be choosers.)

Thank you for your suggestion, however.

Maybe, I will find an even better case for less money....

Hope so.

Doesn't  CM have it's own version of the old Pamntip where it is almost all computer sales.

I thought Pantip Plaza had changed radically, recently.

But, yes, about 8 years ago, there were many computer shops there.

Still, at Pantip Plaza, the best computer shops were actually not there, I think.

When you assemble your latest project, I trust you are aware of the Thai penchant for not earthing electrical circuits.

My son found that out when he was putting together a desktop for me, and the case was live.

You just need to be grounded...

Unless...

You want to fry your motherboard, in some cases....

But, normally, this issue is not a problem.

The main concern is static electricity, if one is assembling a computer in a very LOW humidity environment.

Just stand on a stone floor.

Or,....

So far, I have never fried a motherboard, or a HDD, or whatever, in my life.

Have you ever noticed electricians blink rapidly?

Check out Advice PC, either link below or on FB.  they have a  huge inventory of all PC parts, and very responsive to FB Messenger and LINE.  I bought my latest DIY rig from them, same motherboard you post above and about same processor.  I'd recommend my glass case but you said you don't want that.

For whatever reason, correct, I just prefer no glass windows.

Just a personal preference.

But, I have nothing against them.

I will look for a Fractal case, given our link.

Thank you.

Dear Computer Folks:

As you know, I hate it when Members ask questions, and then take good advice from the TV Forum, and then....

WTF!

These Members who have benefitted from the expertise here....

Provide NO UPDATES about.....

OUTCOMES!

So, I just wanted to let you guys know that, after almost two solid months of AGONY, agonizing over my final decision,...

I chose this DYNAMITE computer case, which I bought locally at JIB.

(Finally, I found a JIB shop which is populated by SUPER NICE (REPEAT, SUPER NICE) sales people.

During the past days, it has been my pleasure to correspond with these super nice and helpful people.

I am not saying that it might be true that ALL of the people at JIB are not as nice as the JIB which I found.

And, as well, I MUST TELL YOU that I have found the quality, and good breeding (meaning respectfulness and kindness, and thoughtfulness, etc., to be improving at JIB, in recent years.  BUT, this is only MY OWN Findings, and I have no real evidence to support my claim.  Just a feeling, that old time feeling I now get when shopping at JIB.  AND SO: Yes.  By all means...IF you can find some great and helpful sales guys/gals at JIB, then you will have been very glad to shop at JIB, and this JIB-sales-clerk bonhomie will be likely to stick with you, for years to come.)

Here is an image of the case I bought....FINALLY!

And, you will probably also know, from my past Topics about ACs, and such, that I always try to buy the LAST ONE in STOCK!

Why do I do this?

Because, I enjoy the feeling of always getting the last one, the last chicken drumstick on the plate, the last hamburger on the grill, or the final scoop of USD100,000.00 ice cream....

Anyway, I just love to stick it to the next shopper, and know that I WAS THE ....guy who...

Got the VERY LAST one in stock...(Tough Luck, Schmuck!)

Thanks to the Members here for the support.

I am happy now.

After months of indecision, my stress levels are no longer waxing, but gradually waning....

Thanks!

Here it is:

image.png.d5b68546c9ff3140771f861cedc48cbc.png

Now, let the naysaying begin!

NOTE:  Just in case (get it?) anyone might want to buy this case here in Thailand, at JIB,...then...I think this case will be re-ordered by JIB, and stocked, and available sometime in the future.  I like this case because there are no light flashing and no problem with all the colors of the rainbow lighting up my office at weird hours of the day and night.
