There appears to be confusion in the original post as to which police station. I wonder which one? Mae Sot Police Station is in Tak Province whereas Mae Sai Police Station is in Chiang Rai Province -

I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mr Kamron said. “It’s spherical, pointed at one end and has a detachable part on top. We don’t know what kind of component it is or why it would fall from the sky.” His description does not match the object shown in the OP.
