That's gonna solve Thailand's problems...

Vanity and stupidity.

No one said it would solve Thailand's problems. Should the private sector not be able to do anything while Thailand still has "problems"? What a ridiculous thought.

The Petronas Towers really put KL on the map.

Personally I can't see it ever happening although I think it would be very cool on the small chance it does. We should have been close to completion of the G Land Super Tower (615m, 125 stories) by now but it never got started. There's a reason why the Burj Khalifa has been unchallenged for 14 years - it is incredibly difficult and expensive to build that high.

Will this be built before or after the 'moon mission'?

No . After the Bangkok Grand Prix and bullet trains to China but before the moon shot.

Thanks for the clarification 😁.  In fairness though, the high speed train to China is actually well underway - although it is currently awaiting announcements of future inevitable delays - to add to the current ones. Should be completed in time for 2100.

The M6 motorway now has some open sections open (one) and is currently only (almost) 5 years late.

The now tallest Burj Khalifa building, start at 1:45 "there are narratives and statistics that you may have missed."

  • one-third empty not intended for occupation, called vanity height"
  • 71% used by humans

Does the Thailand government really need to promote how vain it is?

It's a misallocation of time and money imo.

Yet another way of procrastinating and looking the other way while the country goes to sh.....

They don't, my house is made of cement with additives......🤔

Without the cement, there would be no house....🤗

Cement is an ingredient, the sand cement rock and additive mixed is concrete.

Must make a note to not live anywhere in the vicinity where it could (will) fall like all their bridges, rapid transit supports, etc. etc.

And perhaps somebody should educate the PM that NOTHING is built in Dubai or the Emirates without Western (mostly European) technology, period!

So, his asking for "middle eastern" expertise is kindof ridiculous, because it simply doesn't exist!

Same with Thailand, these high rise buildings involve specialist international companies US, EU and Japanese and some specific technologies, post tensioning, earthquake analysis, bearings and damping, even the pilings etc...

Although this building in the US has problems

To build the tallest tower will only be the first step to show the world thatt Thailand is on top of it.

Next steps: Nuclear power plants all over the country and Thais to be the first on Mars.

Okay. And how many of Bangkok's approximately 180 skyscrapers have fallen down because of "dodgy concrete mix"? How many bridges have collapsed? How many mass transit lines have fallen over?

Yes, there are construction accidents just like anywhere, but they are pretty good at making tall buildings here, especially considering the composition of the land.

Yeah but we are talking about the tallest building in the world here, not a condo..

Lets just say we have differing opinions on the subject that we are both entitled to...

have a great day

If the additives were sand and aggregate it would be concrete.

Yes, if you believe the Mahanakorn, Baiyoke II, Magnolias, Four Seasons private residences and all the other (many) towers over 250m are built with a bad mix of concrete that is up to you, as you say that is your opinion, but what is it based on? Two of those buildings are taller than The Shard which is Western Europe's highest. I base my opinion on the fact that many of them have won global awards.

Not sure if you've ever been to Dubai but Emaar built the Burj Khalifa (828m) and probably half of Dubai's high rises. You think they would allow dodgy concrete mixes in Thailand?? Really??? And their buildings might fall over perhaps?

Sorry, your anti Thai blinkers really define you. I know you have to put a little snide comment on every single positive Thai story, you can't help yourself - I get it. But think about what you are saying, for once.

And within a short time another building will go up somewhere which is taller.

In reality how would 'tallest building' attract big numbers of tourists?

It would add to LOS's reputation of being a hub of destinations for foreigners to commit suicide.  Maybe they will name it for David Carradine.
