In the case of Non O based on retirement applying for 1 year extension of stay

There is no under consideration period for 12 month extension based on retirement.

Great. I thought you have to come back after some month to show the 800,000 deposit in Thai had not sunk below 400,000 or something.

No.

However be aware that some things have changed re doing business with immigration.

Not long ago I went to CW to have stamps transferred to new pp.

They insisted upon me providing my bank book and photocopies of pages and an update to demonstrate I maintained the financials.

This was never a previous requirement.

Hello everyone,

Did not want to open a new thread so I will use this one if it is ok. Today I just came back from CW. Done 1 year visa extension (Thai wife). First I want to ask if Under consideration means I will get the 1 year extension for sure?

Do I need to maintain my 400k or more in the account till this under consideration period is over and till I get the proper stamp?

Thanks so much for your answers.

You will receive final stamp for sure.

Best to maintain the 400k in bank till you receive final stamp.

As said in the answer above, you will get the final stamp. I think if something was missing from the application they would have informed you at the time - once it's been accepted and under consideration stamp is given its just a case of waiting.

Keep the funds in the account. You might be asked to show an updated copy of your bank book when the time comes to get your new extension stamp added to show the funds are still there.

If your local Immigration office accept your application, then it should be approved by regional office.

However, a couple of years ago a friend was requested to resubmit a new application two weeks after originally submitting.

The reason given was regional rejected his application because the submitted copies were so poor, they were illegible.
They also requested updated bank details, which is why you are advised to keep the 400K in the bank until you receive the extension stamp.
