The consulate can get very busy. I arrived at 8:30 am and waited for 5 hours. There were a large number of people from Thai visa agencies, along with regular walk-in applicants, which created a long line. I received a pickup queue number 258, and there were still many people behind me. The actual processing at the window only took about a minute. You might get lucky and encounter a shorter wait time if you visit on a day when there aren't any large groups from Thai visa agencies applying. Money Requirements: I had over 400,000 baht in my account for 10 days. The consulate offered me a 1-year multi-entry visa based on my bank statements, but I chose the 3-month Non-O visa instead. In a few months I'll apply for the 1-year extension in Thailand. Several people in line applied for the 1-year multi-entry visa but were only granted the 3-month Non-O visa because they lacked bank statements. This confirms that you can obtain the 3-month Non-O visa without showing any bank documents, but bank statements are required for the 1-year multi-entry option. This can change anytime but for the time being this seems to be the rules. I hope this helps!! 1 1 6 9
