Hosting FIFA Congress Promotes Economic and Tourism Growth in Thailand, says MFA

The hosting of the FIFA Congress in Thailand from Monday to Friday is set to be a boon for the local economy and tourism sector, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event brings together top football executives worldwide, giving the country global exposure.

 

Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry, said the FIFA Congress is poised to be a significant advantage for Thailand. It will create economic opportunities, boost tourism, and provide a platform to shine a spotlight on Thai culture, traditions, and lifestyle. This aligns well with the country's soft power policy. The event will also allow Thai children and youths to engage with FIFA through numerous activities.

 

As a committee member, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made visa arrangements for attendees and handled the welcoming protocols for key guests, lending to Thailand's international stature.

 

Moreover, the FIFA Congress echoes Thailand's soft power policy, presenting the country's rich culture, traditions, and lifestyle to the international audience. Such exposure will facilitate understanding and foster positive relations between global attendees, further strengthening Thailand's diplomatic ties.
