This is one of the best Laptop's I've ever had and if it totally broke down tomorrow, I've had my money's worth out of it.  If you don't use it professionally and like me, don't use most of the available programmes, you don't need to spend mega bucks.

I bought one of those old Dells (in absence of a suitable Thinkpad) off Lazada for about B4000 just to use during occasional travel w/ no worries about theft or accident. Installed Linux, been running great for about a year now. Battery was 90%. Recently I noticed Aliexpress has backlit keyboards for about B300, and I'm going to try one soon.

OP, I would like to know the specs of your laptop before I comment, particularly the processor.

Running Microsoft Edge

Edge is a browser from Microsoft not an operating system.

So it runs some Windows version. 10 or 11?

From the meager information collected there is no reason to assume that you need a new laptop. Seems fast enough for personal use.

A complete re installation is generally a good idea but plan carefully about the consequences and preparation. Data lost? What programs to reinstall?
Not an easy decision.

I agree with KhunBENQ.

No need for a new laptop.

If running a HDD, install a SSD, and possibly an extra stick of 8GB RAM, but that's optional, and do a fresh install of Windows, and you will be amazed at the speed improvement.

I send emails, read websites, store and edit a few photos and videos, create a few Word and PDF documents on it - and that's about it.

I do that on my phone as well.
