I'm not arguing.

Indeed, you have no argument.

Which was my point.

  • More embarrassment for Khan and his authoritarian, nasty policies aimed at restricting movement of the people.    Everyone should refuse to pay this ridiculous charge, not only the embassies

Those pesky  colonists, never have liked paying their taxes to the crown.

I can see why these embassies don't pay.   This is actually a toll to "reduce congestion" on the roads.   However, by and large, embassies use their vehicle to do their job, which

No need to argue. It is what it is. Low turnout of 40%. Highest turnout in the more central (Labour) areas, where fewer people have cars and so are less affected by these punitive ULEZ fees. Whatever happened to diplomatic immunity anyway? Khan seems to be happy to embarrass the country accross the globe, while the capital city becomes more dangerous for people using public transport.

TfL maintains that the congestion charge is a service fee, not a tax, and therefore not subject to diplomatic immunity.

What "service" are they providing to the embassy?

We don't need to go back centuries. His parents are Pakistani. Not Indian.

It's 2024. They are very different countries. Have been for a very long time.

Stop embarrassing yourself and simply  admit you confused the two nationalities because "these Indian chaps" all look the same to you.😄

The racism level on this thread is high.

A successful immigrant Muslim just doesn't sit well with so many of the culturally challenged.

I am not racist or culturally challenged. I am being realistic. What I do find racist is that Khan is going to build 40 thousand houses near to mosques so his Muslim mates do not have to drive or walk too far. As you say you go back occasionally. So what do you know about the real UK

That's a fake story that has been debunked by multiple different sites. Here's one example, from Reuters.

Fake quote about benefits for London’s Muslims attributed to mayor

Quote

Social media posts attribute a fabricated quote to London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, suggesting he pledged specific benefits for the city’s Muslim population in an April 2024 speech about his mayoral election manifesto.

It doesn't even make sense on the face of it. How could you build houses that could only be lived in by Muslims?
