I use dial up and want to use news groups but i havent found an ISP that offers this. Any ideas?

Do a web search for open servers - they change often - and use. The servers in Thailand are not worth the effort as they only contain a fraction of posts so you can't follow anything or get multi part posts.

There are a number of pay for service servers that you can subscribe to if you are serious about news groups.

If you're even marginally interested in using news groups for files, you should subscribe to a pay service. Open servers are unreliable, hard to find, and may not even contain the groups you want. A pay service is usually about $10/month for normal use, which isn't that much.
