Popular Post webfact
A malfunctioning car horn led to the arrest of three Thai drug traffickers in Kanchanaburi province, uncovering a significant drug haul and putting a dent in a major trafficking operation. On Monday, May 28, officers from Thong Pha Phum Police Station, along with Border Patrol Police, arrested three men at a police checkpoint near Thong Pha Phum Intersection. The events unfolded when a dark blue Honda SUV approached the checkpoint with its horn blaring continuously. Alarmed by the noise, police decided to inspect the vehicle. The driver, visibly nervous, insisted the horn had malfunctioned, a story supported by his two companions. However, police remained suspicious and requested to search the vehicle. The search revealed a staggering 21 kilogrammes of drugs hidden within the car. This included 330,000 methamphetamine tablets (commonly known as Yaba), 2 kilogrammes of crystal meth, and 60 bars of heroin – all worth an estimated 24 million baht. The drugs had been concealed in modified compartments within the front seats and inside the doors. The three men ultimately admitted they were transporting the drugs from Sangkhla Buri district to a customer in the Mueang district of Kanchanaburi province. The suspects were taken to the police station for further questioning, though charges have not yet been filed. The authorities are continuing their investigation in an effort to track down the buyer and any other parties involved in the trafficking operation. This incident comes on the heels of a significant drug bust by the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, which seized over 19 million Yaba pills and assets worth 18 million baht during an operation from May 14 to 22. The authorities' combined efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to tackling the drug trafficking problem in the region. Maybe they didn't have a pair of wire clippers to disconnect the horn .
