There's only one real folding umbrella - the Knirps.  The problem is (and likely the reason the company is clawing its way out of bankruptcy - It's way too expensive.  I own a Knirps purchased in Germany about 40 years ago that still works perfectly.  My wife has a 66 Baht folding umbrella that seems to work just as well. (ok, it's only 3 years old, but do the math...). 

 

We ended up buying 6 el'chepo's for both vehicles.   Still saved baht.

Smart ppl just wear a good quality rain poncho, just sayin'
