Phuket-The rainbow crosswalk at the Chartered Bank Intersection in Phuket Old Town is set to be erased following several reported road accidents.

Pedestrians visiting the intersection for photos have been struck by vehicles and motorbike riders have slipped on the rainbow crosswalk in recent days. Fortunately, injuries have been minor.

Been there quite a few times. The issue is many tourists, mainly Chinese, ignoring the lights and just making selfies whenever they feel like.

.... and also the fact that the hunger for 'wokeness' kneecapped common sense and a road surface was covered with a slick paint...

If authorities want to jump on the woke bandwagon, at least do so in a manner that doesn't make things more dangerous than they already are.

Imagine coming across it for the first time - would you be able to interpret it? What are the rules for this type of crossing. They invented a new kind of zebra crossing.

Proceed gayly.

Define woke?

Painting a pedestrian crossing in LBGQT+ rainbow colours to appear to be with the times while causing a public hazard....

So in this example... Woke can be defined as excessive political correctness, virtue signalling and progressive activism that is overreaching and insincere.

To be clear, I don't really care if people paint rainbows on crossings or not.

It is rather an international trend though.

As far as removing this one as evidence seems to show it is a safety hazard, if it really is a safety hazard, and that's not just some kind of excuse because some Thai Karens complained about it being too gay, I don't see a problem with that either.

Actually this isn't my country anyway, so never mind.

I call B.S.!

You're obviously just anti-gay. Don't bother denying it.

i call BS on your claims he is anti gay.

So you're saying you're an ally of the LGBTQ civil rights movement?

I'm supportive of all human rights and firmly believe in equality for all.

In this example, I'm supportive of the rights for motorists and pedestrians not to have an accident on a slippery road surface that was painted without sensible forethought.

Now you're imagining 'Thai Karens complaining about it being too gay'...

the word karen itself has evolved into a derogatory meaning. oh the irony.

in your mind and worldview you think it is spot on. you are entitled to that opinion no matter how wrong it may be.

It's not a zebra crossing. It's a painted road at a pedestrian traffic lights crossing.

Whoever approved the rainbow paintjob should be prosecuted.

Basically, every motorcycle rider knows what shiny paint surfaces are dangerous. And I am sure there were enough people involved in this job who ride motorcycle.

Fire the woke idiots who love rainbow LBGTQ+/- but don't understand their job.

Removed a long personal argument between two members that had completely derailed the topic.

It's over now. Right?

Yes, too many old members arguing again.  They've nothing better to do.
