Transportation Ministry leaders visit Phuket for economic growth plans

Top officials from the Ministry of Transport met at Phuket's regional hall yesterday. They were there for a two-day exploration tour. Their goal is to help the region's economy grow by working on transportation efforts. This tour is part of a broader training program by the Ministry of Transport. The program targets government workers and those from state companies. The program runs from May 27 to August 16. It aims to increase skills in transport and tourism in the southern Andaman areas, including Phuket and Krabi.

 

The Phuket tour's theme is "Guidelines for Economic Growth in Phuket with Transportation". The tour aims to offer practical knowledge and advice to help the region's economy. This part of the tour will finish today.

 

Phuket's Governor, Sophon Suwannarat, started the meeting with a speech. He highlighted the importance of local officials and national agencies working together. This is needed for steady economic growth in Phuket.

 

 

Leading the team of 34 top officials was Jantira Buruspat. She is the Chief Inspector-General of the Ministry of Transport. She led discussions about transportation strategies. These strategies can boost tourism and economic activities in the region.

 

Among the local officials present were Adcha Buachan and Natchapong Pranit. Buachan is the Chief of the Phuket Land Transport Officer (PLTO). Pranit is the Chief of the Phuket Marine Office. They both took part in the discussions. They shared knowledge about regional transport challenges and chances, according to The Phuket News.

 

Details of the specific policies discussed during the meeting were not shared. However, the focus continues to be planning strategies to improve transport infrastructure. This is to support Phuket's economic development.
