One easy way to make a meal more special is by choosing a restaurant with breathtaking vistas. Whether you want to charm your date, wow a business associate, or just pleasantly enjoy the view while you eat, the right scenery can take your dining experience to the next level. Fortunately, Bangkok has plenty of restaurants offering the best views and, of course, the best food.

From rooftop bars with 360 degree views of the city to romantic dining locations next to the Chao Phraya River, here are the top 10 restaurants offering some of the best views in Bangkok. And don’t worry, these restaurants don’t sacrifice their food in the name of jaw-dropping scenery.

10 Restaurants with the best views of Bangkok

1. Blue by Alain Ducasse

Opening hours: Thursday to Wednesday, 18.00 to 22.00 / Thursday to Monday, 12.00 to 14.00 and 18.00 to 22.00

Location: Unit L101, 1st Floor, ICONLUXE, ICONSIAM

With large windows offering ample views of Bangkok’s skyline and the Chao Phraya River just outside, it’s clear that dining doesn’t get any better than at Blue by Alain Ducasse. We recommend requesting a window seat to make the most of its location inside ICONSIAM. However, anywhere in its expansive and elegant dining room will still be fabulous. The light installation suspended from the ceiling, the blend of royal blue and rich walnut, and the cream leather chairs all come together seamlessly to create an ambience of serene elegance that perfectly complements the exquisite dining experience.

Having held one Michelin star since its opening 2019, you can trust that the contemporary French tasting menus here is nothing short of extraordinary. While Alain Ducasse’s fingerprints, who boasts an impressive 23 Michelin stars, is clearly present on the menu, it’s Executive Chef Wilfrid Hocquet who brings it to life. The dynamic menus showcase elegant French cooking techniques and carefully selected local and imported ingredients for immaculate flavours and minimal yet meticulous presentation.

But if all you want is delicious pastries, swing by The Blue by Alain Ducasse Bakery Boutique. It’s the brand’s stand-alone French bakery located on the ground level of ICONSIAM. Here, you’ll find a tempting selection of French pastries, perfect for a delightful breakfast, afternoon snack, or a decadent indulgence.

Opening hours: Daily, 17.00 to 00.00

Set on the 29th and 30th floors of the SO/ Hotel Bangkok, HI-SO is one of the trendiest rooftop bars in the city. It boasts the best views of Bangkok’s glittering night skyline, providing a mesmerising backdrop for a night out. Plus, you can also catch a bird’ s-eye view of Lumphini Park from this unique vantage point. Aside from the view itself, the sleek design of HI-SO enhances its modern and sophisticated ambience.

If you’re in the mood for something light, HI-SO offers tapas, cheese, and cold cuts that are perfect for sharing. For those looking for a heartier meal, you can choose from a selection of mains such as burgers, juicy steaks, and crispy fish served with chips.

However, the cocktails are the star of the show here—think butterfly bellinis, gin blossoms, and frozen coconut mojitos. Traditional favourites line the menu, too, alongside various aperitifs, digestifs, and non-alcoholic options.

8. Tichuca Rooftop Bar

Opening hours: Sunday to Thursday, 17.00 to 23.45 / Friday to Saturday, 17.00 to 01.30

Location: T-One Building, Soi Sukhumvit 40

If you’re active on social media, chances are you’ve seen Tichuca’s giant bamboo “tree” with its polychromatic LED lights swaying over the bar. This eye-catching decoration is the focal point of the rooftop bar and looks just as amazing in person as in photos. Inspired by the forests of South Africa, with wooden furniture, a bar that looks like a stone, and lush greenery everywhere you look, this rooftop bar has a vibrant atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease once you take a seat.

The menu at Tichuca takes cues from the South African forests, too. You can find a range of cocktails that are so refreshing they’ll help you combat Bangkok’s humid weather. While there are light bites available, the main focus here is on drinks.

Our tip is to snag a table at dusk – the gentle sway of the bamboo tree and the ambient glow from its lights set against the colours of the sunset make it an Instagram-worthy destination. As the evening progresses and the city lights begin to sparkle, Tichuca transforms into a lively, yet still relaxed, hotspot. The music picks up a beat, and the ambience shifts into a festive mood without losing its laid-back charm.

Take the Sky High cocktail, for example, a delightful blend of Tanqueray Gin, Crème de Violette, Maraschino, Blue Curacao Syrup, and Clarified Lemon Juice. In addition to the cocktails, the bar also features a well-curated selection of wines, beers, spirits, and liquors.

Try the Grilled Flank Steak served with Mexican chimichurri and Thai-style spicy dried chilli jaew sauce for a flavour-packed experience. So Sofitel in Bangkok does have great views . The cheaper red oven restaurant on lower floors also have great views out of full floor to ceiling glass windows about 20ft high and the bar is on same floor as HI-SO restaurant.

Much more straightforward.  However, isn't "each evening 6pm - 10pm Thurs -Weds" really "6pm-10pm every day"?

Just a suggestion on my part...

I won't visit any of those places if they don't publish a general price range.  Or even better, an online menu.  I've had too many sticker shocks over the years.  If I'm alone, I'll just turn around and I've wasted a trip.  If I'm with someone, I'll stay and eat, but in unexpressed resentment.

Neither is a satisfying experience.
