Van Collides With Responding Ambulance.

Featured Replies

July 24, Pol. Lt. Reuk Wichian, Deputy Inspector of Nang Rong Police Station, received a report of an accident involving a Siam Ruam Jai Poo In rescue vehicle (ambulance) and a goods delivery truck. The incident occurred on Nang Rong-Lam Plai Mat Road, in front of a motorcycle repair shop, when the rescue vehicle was en route to assist injured individuals from a previous accident.

The crash resulted in severe injuries for two rescue volunteers trapped inside their vehicle. Emergency responders from Siam Ruam Jai Poo In and Nang Rong Hospital's emergency services were dispatched to the scene to provide immediate assistance.

Upon arrival, authorities found the rescue vehicle had collided head-on with a Toyota Vigo delivery truck. The front of the rescue vehicle was heavily damaged, and the two injured volunteers were identified as Ms. Kanokporn Prapasanobol, 34, the driver, who sustained broken ribs, and Ms. Pao, 18, the passenger, who suffered a broken leg. Rescue teams used hydraulic tools to extricate the volunteers, taking about 15 minutes before they were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.

CCTV footage from the motorcycle repair shop clearly captured the incident. The rescue vehicle, with its siren activated, was traveling straight when the delivery truck suddenly turned into its path from a roadside parking spot, leading to the collision. Witness Ms. Nantaporn Laiyam, 34, owner of the repair shop, reported hearing a loud crash before seeing the rescue vehicle and delivery truck collision. The footage revealed that the delivery truck, without heeding the siren, turned abruptly, causing the crash.

Despite the siren being active throughout the journey, the delivery truck turned suddenly, leading to the accident. Mr. Sang, 22, a worker in the delivery truck, recounted that he and a sales officer had stopped for lunch and were re-entering the road when the collision happened. He did not hear the siren, but he was unsure if the driver did. Both sustained minor injuries.

Police are investigating the incident further, reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause and proceed with legal action.
