CoR from TH Imm is way too easy to get.   Nothing here is complicated, for marriage or retirement visas.  Never did the work visa thing, so haven't a clue.

Simply have to prove where you live.  Required and not hard in any country, I believe.   This ain't rocket science.

Many iffice will not issue a COR until you file at least 1 TM47.

  • USA embassy will not issue address confirmation. Along with AU,UK. You need to obtain certificate of residence from your immigration office. Note that in Bangkok that requires a TM47 receipt

  • When did this occur. Previously USA embassy provided this service. Currently do not.

  • At a guess you opened your bank account years ago.

I was just told I would need a verification letter from the US Embassy to open a Thai bank account to get a marriage visa.

However, this is what it says at the embassy site:

“U.S. Embassy Bangkok and U.S. Consulate General Chiang Mai do not provide “verification” letters to open Thai bank accounts.”

Anyone know the process to follow?

Just go to Krungsri Bank with your pp and lease or rental agreement and if you have your non imm stamp that's valid then will open an account.

That's the case at CW.

I'm not aware of other immigration offices having that requirement

Its in a number of offices and has been since late last year. NST is one specifically. I was told by my friend that works at imm that its been cracked down on as part of the mile account crackdown
