In a highly anticipated conversation on Monday, former President Donald Trump joined billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk to discuss key issues surrounding the 2024 election. The discussion, which was broadcast live on Musk's social media platform X, drew over 1.2 million viewers. During the interview, Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, and Musk delved into pressing topics such as immigration, inflation, foreign policy, government spending, and energy policies.

Trump, at 78 years old, did not hold back in his criticisms of the current administration, taking particular aim at the Harris-Walz ticket. As the conversation was geared towards "open-minded, independent voters just trying to make up their mind," according to Musk, Trump used the platform to express his views with less than three months remaining before Election Day.

image.png.8d9a742ef6432cafaaee179672ce559a.png

The conversation began with the crisis at the southern border, which has been a significant issue throughout Trump's political career. "We’re already overwhelmed, Elon," Trump stated, referring to the unprecedented surge in migrants. He lamented the situation in his hometown, New York City, saying, "You had to see the news tonight about New York, New York, and I love that place, and what they’re doing to it is horrible." He pointed to the influx of migrants from various regions, including Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America, emphasizing that many of these individuals were "really bad ones."

Trump squarely placed the blame on Vice President Kamala Harris, criticizing her role as the "border czar" under President Biden. "She could close [the border] up right now," Trump insisted, labeling Harris as "all talk." He expressed frustration with her efforts, saying, "She tries to pretend she’s going to do something… she’s had three and a half years." Trump also accused Harris of attempting to distance herself from the border czar label, arguing that people should not allow her to get away with what he called a "disinformation campaign."

The conversation then shifted to the state of the economy, where Trump voiced his concerns about the impact of inflation on the average American. "If you’re just a middle-income person, you can’t afford it," he said, highlighting the financial strain that inflation has placed on ordinary citizens. He contrasted the current situation with the past, noting, "You know, four years ago, five years ago, people were saving a lot of money. Today, they’re using all that money and borrowing money just to live." Trump attributed the inflation to various global events, including Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Hamas's attacks on Israel, and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. "Inflation was caused by oil," he stated, suggesting that these events contributed to the rising prices.

On foreign policy, Trump issued stark warnings about the capabilities of leaders from North Korea, Russia, and China. "I know [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. I know President Xi [Jinping]. I know Kim Jong Un," he asserted. "They’re at the top of their game; they’re tough; they’re smart; they’re vicious — and they’re going to protect their country." Trump expressed doubts about Harris's ability to handle these global leaders, speculating that when they see her or President Biden, "they can’t even believe it." He also touched on the situation with Iran, suggesting that the country would not be as aggressive if he were still in office. "I don’t want to do anything bad to Iran," Trump said, "But they knew not to mess around. Iran was broke."

The former president also criticized Biden for his stance on Ukraine potentially joining NATO, claiming that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine without Biden's rhetoric. "You know, Biden did something with Russia. There was no chance of him ever going in. And when I left, and then, then after I left, they started forming big armies on their on the border with Ukraine, right? And I looked at that, and I thought he was doing that because Putin’s a good negotiator. I thought he was doing that to negotiate," Trump reflected. He reaffirmed his support for an Israel-style Iron Dome defense system in the U.S., promising, "We’re going to have the best Iron Dome in the world. We’re going to have protection."

Trump and Musk also discussed government spending, with Musk proposing the idea of a commission to monitor government efficiency. "I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that ensures that the taxpayer money is spent in a good way," Musk suggested. Trump welcomed the idea and expressed his enthusiasm for having Musk serve on such a commission, calling him "the greatest cutter." Musk went on to compare the U.S. to Venezuela in terms of government spending and inflation, emphasizing the need for better fiscal management.

As the conversation progressed, Trump took the opportunity to label Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, as "radical" progressives. He warned that their leadership would make the country "dangerous," stating, "She is considered more liberal by far than Bernie Sanders. She’s a radical left lunatic." He voiced concerns about the future under their leadership, cautioning, "If she’s going to be our president, very quickly, you’re not going to have a country anymore." Trump accused Harris of supporting policies such as defunding the police and banning fracking, arguing that her presidency would lead the country down a dangerous path.

Trump also criticized Walz, calling him a "radical left person" and an "anti-Israel" figure. He pointed to Walz's approval of legislation allowing tampons in boys' bathrooms as evidence of his extreme views. "That means she [Harris] believes in that, too," Trump argued, suggesting that Walz's policies reflect Harris's own beliefs. He concluded by stating, "If we have her as a president… I don’t think our country can survive."

Throughout the conversation, Trump remained resolute in his criticisms of the current administration and his warnings about the future under Democratic leadership. As the 2024 election draws closer, the former president's dialogue with Musk provided a platform for him to articulate his views on the key issues facing the nation and to rally support among voters who are still undecided.

In a way, Trump and Musk have a lot in common. Both are doing their darndest to take down a business of theirs and to hell with their investors. In Trump's case, Truth Social, and in Musk's case, Tesla.

Trust a New York Post report, from which this article was based on, to turn that dumpster fire of an interview into a beacon of light. And trust Phillip Bump from another Post, to point exactly why this Bro-Fest has its limitations

"Over the course of the conversation, there were countless misrepresentations and dishonesties, the background noise of the Trumpian rhetorical space. But this — and the sort of hagiographic self-policing engaged in by people like Gutfeld — is why Trump both has a consistent base of support and why it never seems to get any bigger... This is why the “weird” disparagement has gotten traction: To those outside the bubble, the verbiage and focal points and self-aggrandizement and victimhood are hard to understand."

Another way Musk and Trump resemble each other is their willingness to lie at the drop of a hat. Musk blamed the technical foul-up on Iranian hackers.

Musk claims there was a DDOS attack on X — but The Verge is told there was not.

Eighteen minutes after the conversation was supposed to begin, Musk claimed that X was the target of a “massive DDOS attack” that had made it impossible for the Space to proceed as planned.

The rest of X appears to be working normally, however, and a source at the company confirmed to The Verge that there wasn’t actually a denial-of-service attack. Another X staffer said there was a “99 percent” chance Musk was lying about an attack.

Isn't she still the 3 1/2 year missing Czar.  Trump set women back 50 years.  Where do you go this?   Your comical.  Not very smart, but comical.

So apparently you believe that the Constitution gives some sort of exceptional power to a border czar? I think you might want to  direct your critiques of someone's intelligence closer to home.

Another and one more reason not to buy a Tesla EV from this Musk moron.

Seems like Musk has invited Harris to do an interview of the same format.  I'm looking forward to her holding a cogent conversation for an hour.  But I doubt it's going to happen.

Why on earth would Harris do an interview with someone who has publicly endorsed Trump.

The ‘interview’ was a PR exercise, Musk trying to help Trump out.

Trump responded with his customary lies and revealed his inability to speak without slurring.

He’s a mess.

But let’s not make the same mistake Trump and his supporters, both foreign and domestic, made.

Stick with Trump guys, you know it makes sense.

No need to cry.  It's just 2 guys having a conversation that share similar political views.  Harris can have a chat with one of the (many) leftist outfits that will have a similar conversation with her that share her political views.

I’m all in favor of Trump being exposed as a confused and slurring liar.

More please.

Me, too.

Trump rambles, slurs his way through Elon Musk interview. It was an unmitigated disaster.

He was rambling, babbling on about crowd sizes and immigration and President Joe Biden and whatever else seemed to pass through his mind. He was also badly slurring his words, raising questions about his health, and doing nothing to knock down rising concerns about his age and well-being.

It will rubbed Trump's fragile ego when he know that his return to the old platform could only garnered 2.1 million that tuned in to X Space while Ron DeSantis had 4.2 listeners on the same platform previously. Even the Robin Wheeler's Elon Q & A had 2.7 million listeners. Old grouchy will soon throw a bigly tantrum

it was 27million listening, not 1.2, so lies from the MSM from the very beginning, gee, who'd have thought!!

it's now up to 84 million, just like the Tucker-Putin one, at 271+ million,  like it or not, people want to hear what these guys have to say, they cannot normally because MSM edits and distort anything they say to fit their narrative and brainwashed masses!

Trump seems unable to keep himself from engaging in the kind of behavior that's going to alienate women. Go to the 1 minute mark here to here him insult Kamala Harris' looks:

Exactly. Especially compared to the interviews the Democratic candidates have given...... oh.... never mind.

its says nothing about Harris, at 11 minute + its about the ddos attack. listen to the whole interview.

Utter b******s

During the live conversation between Donald Trump and Elon Musk on X (formerly known as Twitter) on August 12, 2024, the event attracted as many as 1.3 million listeners at its peak. Despite technical issues that delayed the start of the conversation, a substantial number of people tuned in to listen to the discussion .

Just now, Hanaguma said:

From a strategic point, why should she? Why not just let weird Trump beat up on himself? He's demonstrating that he's got quite a gift for that. It  shows that there's a bright side to a deteriorating mind.

Yeah, since Musk is not a trained journalist, Harris or Walz should be able to destroy him, right?  But no, they dont even go on gentle and partisan shows like MSNBC. It is a callback to Joe’s basement campaign of 2020.  I think they are trying to hide until the convention next week.
