Thailand's Constitutional Court has ousted Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from his role, concluding that he grossly breached political ethics by appointing a former criminal to a ministerial position. Srettha had appointed Pichit Chuenban, a well-known lawyer associated with the Shinawatra family, as the Minister of the Prime Minister's Office. The appointment was met with backlash, as 40 Senators argued that Pichit didn't meet the necessary criteria due to his past prison term.

Lanes on Rama II Road to Shut Temporarily for Construction on August 16-31

The Thai Expressway Authority (EXAT) has declared a brief closure of inbound lanes on Rama II Road by the Big C Kheha Thonburi bus stop from August 16 to 31. This closure will happen each day from 10 pm to 5 am. On August 14, it was confirmed that the Ministry of Transport has commissioned UN-CC joint venture, including Unique Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited and Civil Construction Services and Products Company Limited, to handle the construction of Rama III – Dao Khanong – Western Bangkok Outer Ring Road Expressway's first contract.
