I think Vance is supremely confident in himself and thought he could pull off faking being a Trumpie but  faking it catches up with you and he is so far so unlikeable - except amongst the base -  that even if he does ok in the debate he'll probably come across as so arrogant that he's not likely to win a lot of votes. 

I really do find quite fascinating how offended Trump/Vance supporters get when you criticize them. Objectively speaking Trump is likely the most offensive, most ignorant, and most ill informed politician of my lifetime. Every time he opens his mouth his incredible level of ignorance is on full display, he rarely ever talks about substance, and he spends the vast majority of his time name calling and criticizing everyone that he doesn't like.

 

I am a Harris/Walz supporter by default. You can criticize them all you want, I might respond but I really don't get offended by what any of you say. I don't really care that much, I don't like politicians all that much, on either side of the spectrum. I am not married to an ideology. 

 

But, Trump makes Bush Jr. and Nixon look like regal Statesmen!

Vance, along with many other Republicans, cosplays to be like Walz. Vance is flips and flops in whichever way benefits him. He's a complete fake, which makes him the perfect VP candidate for the serial fabricator.

JD Vance flipped on: Trump, gender procedures for children and support for police, This over the course of 10-15 years in his 20s, until his 40s 

Kamala Harris: wanted to ban fracking, now she doesn’t, wanted to ban private health care, now she doesn’t, wanted a mandatory gun buy-backs in connection with an “assault” weapons ban, now she doesn’t, supported Biden’s open border policies, now she's tought on the border, wanted to defund the police, now she's strong on crime, and this over the course of a few weeks because of the election, after which she'll flip back. 

 

Vance served honorably in the Marines, went to Ohio State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a BA in political science, in two years. He then went to Yale law school, arguably the best in law school in the country, where he was editor of the Yale Law Review and got his JD. 

He clerked for a federal judge, spent time doing corporate law, worked for a venture capitalist and wrote a bestselling book. He's married and has three kids. 

 

Walz joined the guard out of high school where he spent a weekend a month, went to a mediocre school where he got a BS degree (without distinction) and taught social studies. Quit the guard when his unit was deployed, ran for congress and won, ran for governor and won, did nothing while Minneapolis burned, and oversaw the decline of education in his state from 7th place to 18th place in the country, but hey, he made lunches "free" and put tampons in the boy's bathroom.

 

Looks to me like Harris is the fake, as is stolen valor Walz.
