Aussie Arrested in Koh Phangan for 15 Sexual Assault Cases in Australia
You are forgetting.. those with enough money do not need to hide. Just have a lot of envelopes and do not do anything to publicize your presence. -

New OA Visa Financial Requirements?
Wonder why anyone goes for the Non O-A at all. Particularly if you have a regular (pension) income (>65k Baht) that you can transfer month by month. I think it's for those without regular income and not wanting to transfer and freeze 800k Baht? But adding the health insurance obligation! I am happy to have unloaded that status by a border run in 2022. Otherwise I searched misc sources and all unchanged in Thai Baht numbers, 65'000/800'000. For Germany I could not find the numbers in Euro (just pointing to some MFA powerpoint). -

Foreign pickup driver flees after crashing into Thai woman in Phuket
A Thai man moaning about foreigners driving skills? Hilariuos! Most foreigners have gone through extensive (and expensive) traffic training schools, learning how to drive. They don`t get a licence without training AND exams, with a teacher at their side in the car. Here they get a licence in 2 hours, and NO need showing how to act in traffic. What a joke!! I had my licence over 50 years ago, with teacher at my side in the car, and one would have to read through a theory book, many questable sheets handed to you in the school. This thing goes hand in hand with your progress of your driving practise, and ends with a test sheet and a drive with a supervisor (the one who grant you your licence). I have been driving as I was instructed, all my life and NEVER had any issues. And I will NEVER go on to drive lika a Thai. No Thai can EVER teach me how to drive, PERIOD!! Cheers! Have a nice day! -

Foreign pickup driver flees after crashing into Thai woman in Phuket
Sympaty to the lady. But a thai complaining about foreign drivers has got to be a joke. I’ve actually took the thai driving test, you would have to be a complete moron to fail it is a joke. You don’t actually get in a car and drive on the test i could not believe how easy it was. No driving skills required whatsoever. They also gave me a motorcycle licence without taking any test. After leaving and seeing this clown show now i understand why thais are complete idiots on the road. 🤷🏼 -

King of Shaves products in Thailand?
A couple of years ago I bought online some shaving oils from K o S and they deducted the UK VAT which almost covered the postal charge. I just tried to do a similar order and no deduction of VAT and the shipping charge (by Royal Mail) was more expensive than the products! Does anyone know a better way to get King of Shave products in Thailand? -

Maybe just me but Koh Phangan would not be anywhere top of my list of locations if I was hiding from the jacks. -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
For long-term living I would choose Pattaya hands down. I often say Pattaya is actually a better place to live than as a tourist destination to visit for a few days. It has all the things you'd want in a place to live, either year-round or for shorter terms. Great selection of neighborhoods, each with its own vibe. You can choose beach side, with a number of different choices. Or, you might want the quieter, less touristy Darkside, with lots of terrific housing projects to choose from. Great selection of housing choices at all price ranges--hugely important in a place to live--whether you are renting or buying. You can, and my spouse and I have, live in everything from a studio condo on the beach to our current 4-bedroom pool villa. As our housing needs changed, Pattaya easily accommodated us. Tremendous choice. Also so important, very good health care, eye care, and dental care available with a number of large hospitals and clinics. Terrific shopping choices with two very good shopping malls, furniture and hardware stores like Home Pro and Index, good grocery store choices, a large number of car dealers offering a wide brand selection, and a huge number of different restaurants. Plus, cinemas in English, golf courses, scuba, snorkeling, fishing, badminton and tennis courts, etc. And, the added bonus of being an easy drive on the 4-lane Motorway to both a big city and two major airports. Three if you count U-Tapao. The cherry on top is the large and diverse expat community living here. You'll likely make some new friends--we have. -

Aussie Arrested in Koh Phangan for 15 Sexual Assault Cases in Australia
Maybe you think all settlers should have been given Abo names like Bindi, Kirra or Daku? strange they never seem to manage names longer than 5 letters. The registrar should forbid some names of course for babies, definitely Muhammad, Aisha, and Hitler.- 1

Aussie Arrested in Koh Phangan for 15 Sexual Assault Cases in Australia
Why does it take three police Colonels plus a police team to arrest one guy overstaying his visa? Surely two cops would be sufficient. It seems to me that Thailand has far too many cops doing nothing. Perhaps they should look at retrenching one third of them and increasing the pay of the remainder but make them earn their money. -
