There's many next to Pullman Hotel in downtown. I don't remember the name but all shops were pro and not pushy.

I don't know worldwide prices but to me they were -50% of EU prices, or more, because all is 23 carat. In EU only 10, 14 and 18.

I bought beautiful hanging ear pieces for $ 320 to my gf.

First she didn't want them "They are not for farmer girls" but the shop girls were with me and they convinced her "they are perfect for you". Later she loved them and was very proud to wear and show off to her friends. It was the first jewerly she even had.

 Thanks!

Are you sure that the hotel is the Pullman? I walk past the Pullman every day and there are no gold shops there.

My Thai Mrs has a necklace that she's had since age 18. Whenever she has spare cash it gets weighed in and a more expensive one purchased. Since we've been together I've upgraded it each birthday. She's content with 20,000 baht! She says all gold shops are the same. In our town we have two or three in each adjacent street! She doesn't seem to fear being sold underweight or fake gold. She's never heard of that happening.

Then she does not have the necklace that she got when she was 18 at all!
