Texas Chicken Closing.....

Featured Replies

I thought Texas Chicken was pretty good.....The Texas Chicken across from Tuckom always seemed pretty busy....Better than KFC chicken any day..

Texas Chicken is shutting down all its outlets in Thailand after serving customers here for nine years.

The fast food company announced on its Facebook page on Monday that it would close all outlets from the end of September. It gave no reason for its decision to exit Thailand.

I really loved the A&W Mozzaburger with curly fries. A bit expensive but very tasty. Wife used to like the morning fish salad.

I will miss Texas chicken wraps and fries. Used to look forward to going to Bangkok just to stop and order this on the long three hour drive home. Sad departure from Thailand.

Texas Chicken are closing it's Thailand operation ..

Texas Chicken is an American fast food restaurant chain, called Church's Texas Chicken in the United States. Its first branch was in San Antonio in Texas and set up the headquarters in Atlanta. PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc (OR) brought it into Thailand nine years ago, opening the first outlets at its PTT petrol stations and then branching out to other places, including some community malls.

It was part of OR's business strategy to achieve a balance between oil and non-oil businesses.

Church's Texas Chicken has spread its wings to 26 countries.

The Real reason to close;

"Around that same time, an urban legend about the chain gained popularity, having people believe that Church’s was owned by the KKK. On a related note, there was also a rumor that Church’s used ingredients that made Black men infertile."

We know but how come you are directly quoting the Bangkok Post's report?

Since when can an urban legend (i.e. it is not true) be a "real reason"?

This is the thing, although there are some Texas stores, the ones we used to visit were in petrol stations, they took over the spots in “Jiffy” stores left by A&W. So what will be next?

I will miss Texas (kinda) because they were convenient and cheap, the food ok, you could park outside, eat, then get a refill coke to go.

Thailand has the best food in the world - I miss nothing from the US.

Are you referring to the Hard Rock Cafe in Pattaya?  🤔 The Hard Rock Hotel is undergoing a long-term floor-by-floor renovation and some of its facilities are temporarily closed, but I believe the Hard Rock Cafe remains open.
